Why can't Brokerbot process videos?

When you're chatting with BrokerBot, you might want to share a video to ask a question about it. This article explains what happens when you share a video link or file and what to do instead.

BrokerBot is not able to process videos. BrokerBot is an AI assistant that works with text. It does not have the ability to watch, listen to, or understand video content. This includes:

  • Video files you might have on your computer (like .mp4 or .mov files)

  • Links to videos on sites like YouTube or Vimeo

What happens if I share a video?

If you paste a video link or try to upload a video file in your chat, BrokerBot will not be able to process it. It cannot answer questions about the video's content, summarize it for you, or perform any other task related to it. You can still share links with human team members in the chat, but BrokerBot itself will not be able to use the information.

What you CAN do:

  • Ask questions using text.

  • Refer to documents or articles that are already in the BrokerBot knowledge base.

  • Share video links in chat for other human users to see.

What you CANNOT do:

  • Ask BrokerBot to summarize or analyze a video.

  • Expect BrokerBot to get information from a YouTube link.

  • Upload a video file as a source of information for your query.

Best Practice: Ask about the source if the information you need is in a video, ask your account owner if they can provide a written summary or transcript. Once that text-based document is added to the knowledge base, BrokerBot will be able to answer your questions about it.

If you're unsure how to get the information you need, try rephrasing your question without referring to a video, or ask for a text-based version of the content.
